The Maine Community College System [MCCS]
The Maine Community College System needed to bring its
web site into alignment with recently updated branding
assets. The extensive site needed extensive content design and information architecture work to increase ease of use for both visitors and webmasters. Additionally, MCCS
wanted to conform with { Section 508 } of the Federal Rehabilition
Act, optimizing site accessibility.
Accessible Solutions
Brushfire Media worked with another graphic designer and MCCS staff to develop site architecture and visual design. We then executed the site production, bringing the site code into alignment with { World Wide Web Consortium } guidelines for standards compliance. By creating a table-free layout using advanced Cascading Style Sheet standards and through careful consideration of the { Section 508 } requirements, we were able to meet all Priority 1 and Priority 2 accessibility checkpoints, as well as most Priority 3 checkpoints.
